  TRENT, NICHOLAS EDWARD
Acting DEAN

Dean Trent received his BA in Journalism from Carleton University, Ottawa,Canada. He received his JD degree from Westcliff American University College of Law in 1996. Dean Trent’s experiences include holding various positions with various companies, such as Pres./CEO at Sutton Industries, Inc., Chairman at Pay Day Publications, Chairman/CEO at Alan Weston Communication, Inc., President at Maxoil Inc., and currently an Associate of Smith, Silbar, Parker and Wonffiden. Dean Trent specializes in Business acquisitions, mergers, marketing strategies, and business contracts.
 

BRASFIELD, GIOVANNA, MBA
ASSOCIATE DEAN

Prof. Brasfield received her BA in Business Administration/Marketing from Mount St. Mary's College in 1998, her MBA from University of Phoenix in 2000 and completed her Doctorates in Public Administration coursework 
at the University of La Verne in 2004. Prof. Brasfield's professional experience includes serving as a Research Assistant with Marketing Matrix, Inc. from 1999 to 2000, the Pricing Strategy Analyst with Nissan North America, Inc. in 2000, the Marketing Analyst with Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation from 2001 to 2003 and as Marketing Director with Tenacious Entertainment since 2003. Prof. Brasfield is also the founder of Brasfield & Associates Marketing, a marketing consulting company that offers a broad range of marketing, event and sales consulting services. Prof. Brasfield's teaching experience includes serving as an Instructor with California International University since 2004, participating in college service and academic instruction, in developing and implementing innovative class discussions, in student advising and classroom leadership and in curriculum development.

DABIRI, SIAMAK, MBA
PROFESSOR

Prof. Siamak Dabiri received his BA in Business Administration and Economics and MBA Business Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN. Prof. Dabiri's teaching experience included teaching all levels of accounting, auditing, managerial accounting, Mathematics, computerized accounting, personal finance, and economics, to prepare students for employment in industry as well as compliance with CPA exam requirements and all Microsoft applications, Windows, and computer hardware at the Institute of Computer Technology, LA, CA from 1991 to 2001, and currently an Adjunct Faculty at University of Redlands Los Angeles campus from 2002 to present. Prof. Dabiri also served as the Academic Dean Computer Science at ICT from 1996 to Sept 2000.


MATAI, SEEMA, MBA
PROFESSOR
In 1996 Matai received her BA in Communication from UC Santa Barbara. It was there that she participated in the National Television Violence Study (NTVS) commissioned by Senator Paul Simon. Matai holds an MBA with and emphasis on Marketing and Management Information Systems from UC Riverside. At Riverside, she taught and assisted in instruction of Marketing, Market Research, Consumer Behavior, and Business Strategy. Her Master’s Thesis was on Linux and its application in the field of Retail Technology. She also conducted projects for multi-million dollar corporations such as Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Epson and Icee. After completing her MBA, she entered the Internet industry as an Auctions Manager. She moved from the Internet industry to J.D. Power and Associates to conduct automotive studies. While there, she worked closely with large-scale organizations such as Nissan, Volkswagen, Subaru and Daimler Chrysler. In April of 2002, she began her own venture called Interactive Focus. Today, Subaru still remains one of Matai’s clients. Her professional awards are: The Bank of America Achievement Award in Business; The Santa Barbara Industry and Educational Council and Business Award; Soroptomist’s Young Woman of the Year for Southern California; UCSB Department of Communication Award Outstanding Community Service Award; 2005 Nominee San
Fernando Valley Business Journal Women Who Mean Business Award


 

McGHEE, PAMELA D., MBA, DPA
PROFESSOR
Prof. McGhee received an A.A. in Liberal Arts from Harbor Junior College in 1987, her B.S.M., Business Management from Pepperdine University in 1992, her M.B.A., Business Administration from University of Redlands in 1997, and completed coursework for her DPA from University of La Verne in 2004. Prof. McGhee’s professional experiences include service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves in various fields to include Communications, Supply, Legal, Court Reporter and Paralegal during the period of 1979 to present. In addition Prof. McGhee has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 25 years from 1979 to present with SBC Communications (formerly Pacific Bell). Prof. McGhee has held positions as Development Manager, Staff Manager, Sales Planning Manager, Sales Manager, Training Manager and Area Manager during this period. Prof. McGhee has received professional development in various areas of Business, Supervision, Leadership and Management from the U.S. Army and SBC (former Pacific Bell). Prof. McGhee’s Professional Licenses, Accreditations and Memberships include the U.S. Army Reserves and U.S. Army Veteran, Internal Affairs Chair for SBC African American Corporate Professionals Board of Directors, Committee Member At Large for Wescom Credit Union, Board of Directors Member for
Wescom Holdings and the National Notary Association.


WANG, JOHNNY, MBA, JD
PROFESSOR

Prof. Wang has received his BS in Engineering from National Tian Jin University, Tianjin, China and graduated top 10% in 1984. Professor Wang received his MBA from Charminade University of Honolulu, HI in 1991 and his JD from Washington University School of Law, St. Louis, MO in 2000. Prof. Wang’s experiences include being an Associate for Taipei Commercial Law Firm, National Taiwan University, working in the areas of trademarks, patents, and copyright and various teaching positions at Beijing University Law School, Washington University School of Law, TM Cooley Law School, and Charminade University of Honolulu.

 

WILLIAMS,WILLIAM, MA
ASSISTANT
PROFESSOR
Prof. Williams received his BA in TV and Radio in and MA in Advertising from Michigan State University in 1968 and 1970, respectively. Prof Williams' professional experiences include working with Top 10 advertising agencies. From 1980-1998 he served as Senior Vice President of Saatchi & Saaatchi, J. Walter Thompson, and McCann Erickson in senior account management roles in the US, Europe, and Canada, managing global Fortune 50 clients. Prof. Williams also worked in strategic planning and new business development with Brandworks International, and Hill Holiday Advertising between 1998 - 2000. And, gained experience in qualitative and quantitative research as Senior Director of Marketing Services at J.D. Power and Associates, from 2000-2003. In 2003 he founded Agilocity, LLC, an Internet Marketing Services company, which specializes in developing online marketing for medium size companies. Prof. Williams has been responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies for a diverse list of clients including General Motors, Ford, Hormel Foods, Winnebago, 3M, and Sorel footwear. His areas of expertise include Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Internet, and International Business.


UZOMAH, CHIDI BEN , MBA, DBA
PROFESSOR
Dr. Uzomah received his AA in Business Administration from Compton College in 1977 (Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Student), his BS in Business Administration from CSU, Dominguez Hills in 1979 (Dean’s list), his MBA, Management / Marketing from West Coast University in 1982, and his DBA in International Business and Management from United States International University in 1986. Dr. Uzomah has held various teaching positions including serving as an Assistant Professor of Business and Management with Northrop University from 1985-1992, as an Adjunct Professor of Business and Management with Woodbury University from 1985 - 1996, and as an Associate Professor of Business and Management with Imo State University, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria from 1997 - 2003. Dr. Uzomah has held various academic administrative positions including serving as the Dean of the College of Business Administration from 1982 – 1992, as the Director of the College of Business Research Center in 1985, as the Director of the University Soccer Club/Team in 1985, as the a Member of the Alumni Survey Committee in 1986, as a Member of the University Senate Committee on Curriculum and Academic Development from 1988 – 1992, as a Member of the University Senate Administrative Council from 1989 – 1992, as a Member of the Senate Academic Policy Committee from 1986 – 1989, as a Member of the University Research Committee from 1986 – 1989, as a Member of the Faculty Executive Board from 1989 – 1992, and as a Member of the University Accreditation Review Team from 1989 – 1991 with Northrop University. Dr. Uzomah’s research activities during the recent years were mainly in the areas of management, international business, international finance, and financial management. His other interests include Global Markets Integration, Introduction and Application of Total Quality Management (TOM) to the developing countries and their Management.
