Laura D. Greathouse,  Ph.D.

Acting President

The Board of Directors has designated Dr. Greathouse as Acting President of Irvine University for the interim period pending completion of an executive search and selection of the President.  She holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Akron (Ohio) in 1994, MA and PhD degrees in Anthropology from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton, NY, earned in 1997 and 2000 respectively. In addition to her Acting President duties, Dr. Greathouse is the Dean, College of Liberal Arts of Irvine University.  Her appointment to Acting President was effective on May 7, 2011.


John Lee Y., Ph.D, Ed.D.

President Emeritus

Dr. John Lee Y. has enjoyed a distinguished career in higher education, first as former President of American College of Technology then as the Irvine University’s third President from 1998-2004. Under his leadership, the University grew in size, stature, and prestige. During his  presidency, his achievements included the addition of the College of Business and the College of Liberal Arts certificate, undergraduate and  graduate degree programs, initiating a great plan for international expansion.Dr. John Lee Y. also served as former panel examiner for California State Personnel Services. Dr. John Lee Y. is extensively experienced in business management and is the author of several books on language teaching and methodologies.

Dr. John Lee Y. is currently engaged overseas to establish international relations with various schools and universities to continue the   University’s goal towards international expansion.


David C. McKinney, Ph.D.

Vice President, External Affairs

Dr. McKinney received from the Illinois Institute of Technology his Doctorate in City and Regional Planning in 1976, a Master of Science in Planning in 1968 and a Bachelor of Architecture in 1967.

With more than 30 years of teaching experience, he has previously taught at such schools as:  National University, Western International University, College for Financial Planning, the GIA School of Business, Santa Fe Community College, Arizona State University and Butler University.

He has conducted seminars and management training programs throughout the world in such locations as: London, Hong Kong, Dubai, Tokyo, Mumbai, and Johannesburg.

Dr. McKinney has accumulated more than 35 years of practical business experience in both the public and private sectors. He was the managing CEO of 26 businesses simultaneously which he had started.  He has had international assignments in Italy, the UK, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Indonesia, Mexico, Iran, China and India.

His expertise in business management, economics, entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing and finance is globally respected and has been utilized by several U.S state legislatures, the Hudson Institute think tank and hundreds of various corporate clients.


Ron Ross, M.B.A.

Director of Library Services

Prof. Ross received his M.B.A. from California State University, Long Beach in 1973 and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University in 1969.

He has owned and operated Multi-Library Services, Inc. for more than 25 years. He also served as an officer in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Taluga.

Prof. Ross is the C.F.O for First Priority Investments, Inc. and serves on the board of directors as Vice President of the non-profit organization Ballet Etudes.


Ronald Johnson, M.A.

Director of Admissions

Ronald Lamar Johnson received his B.A. in Sociology with a Minor in Linguistics from Divine Word College in Epworth, Iowa in 1979.  He received his M.A. in Educational Administration in 1990 from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Johnson began his professional experiences at First Church of God Christian School in 1982, where he taught Social Studies.  In 1987 until 2006 he served as Vice Principal of the First Church of God Christian School.  In 2006, Ronald Johnson served as Principal at Desert Christian High School in Lancaster, California, and in 2007, he served as Executive Director and Principal of the Antelope Valley Desert Montessori School in Lancaster, California.

In 2000, Ronald Johnson became a member and later a chairperson of the Association of Christian Schools International Accrediting Commission. He also served as a member and as chairperson of the visiting committee for the accrediting body of the Association of Christian Schools International and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Ronald Johnson was chosen by ACSI to serve on and chair the accreditation visit to Morrison Academy in Taiwan. From 1992 to 2003, He served as seminar leader for a number of staff development and educational events for the Association of Christian Schools International at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California


Rebeca  Zarate-Cervantes

Registrar, Human Resources Director

Rebeca Zarate-Cervantes served as a Division Director and Compliance Officer at The Center for Employment Training (CET) a nationally recognized non-profit employment training agency, for over 25 years.  She is a former member of the Workforce Investment Boards (WIB) of Ventura County, Orange County, Santa Ana and Anaheim.

Ms. Cervantes attended East Los Angeles College. She obtained a Certificate in Nonprofit Management in September 2002, from California State University, Los Angeles where she also in May 2002 completed the Latino Leadership Program from the Center for Nonprofit Management.
